About the Role
· Pay: $16-$18 an hour (depending on experience)
· Shift and Schedule: Weekdays Monday-Fridays 4-8 hours shift
· Meet with clients in the main office location or in career setting
Position Roles and Responsibilities:
· Motivated with a skillset to provide educational opportunities and career support to young adults and beyond in the disability community.
· Assist with guiding clients or individuals to determine their career opportunities, career options, evaluation of skills, work history and personality.
· Will complete strength and weakness assessments and preference assessments
· Assist with interviewing skills, career decisions and career development
· Career counseling to clients or individuals with no to extensive experience in a career path
· Motivating and encouraging to clients with various approaches also introduce and promote career exploration
· Assist with writing and resume building.
· Assist with job shadowing for clients and individuals also willing to meet clients in there career of choice environment or meet in a public location to discuss career goals and progress
· Involved in the Dress for Success movement of providing sufficient clothing for a business setting
Requirements
Required Education:
High school diploma or GED
Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (preferred)
Skills: Critical Thinking, Supportive, Problem Solving
